Each competitor is randomly assigned a group at the beginning of the competition. There are multiple rounds in the competition, and each person is only competing against the others within the same group during each round. We make every effort to ensure that groups contain an equal number of competitors throughout the competition.
You retain full ownership of your photos. By entering, you only grant us limited permission to display them on our website for the competition. We'll never use your photos or personal information for marketing, and you can request removal at any time.
Halloween and horror fans over 18 years old at the time of entry are eligible to participate. Entrants must be permanent legal residents of the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec).

Many of these accounts falsely claim they can guarantee votes or rankings; however, our systems are designed to detect and prevent fraudulent voting activity from counting. We have a strict “no refund” policy, which voters agree to when they make a donation. Since winners are decided based upon votes the public casts, we do not issue refunds once a vote has been fully processed in our system. As a voter, you are responsible for understanding this when casting votes for the competitor in the competition.
Yes! Every vote by donation is a direct donation to AIT, a 501(c)(3) charity. Votes by donation are deductible for federal income tax purposes. AIT will subsequently make the grant to Starlight Children's Foundation after the winner is announced. Donors will receive a receipt via email.

Colossal Management, LLC runs the Face of Halloween competition as part of a fundraising campaign on behalf of AIT, a 501(c)(3) charity.
As explained in the Rules, 100% of donations raised during the Competition go directly to the Competition's charitable grantmaker, AIT, which will then grant donations (minus fees and variable costs, as well as a nominal 1% administrative fee retained by AIT) to Starlight Children's Foundation at the end of the Competition.
Starlight Children's Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that aims to deliver happiness to hospitalized children and their families. Starlight's vital programs are donor-funded and offered free of charge to hospitals within its nationwide network to provide comfort, distraction, and a sense of normalcy to kids coping with hospitalization, procedures, and treatments.
Many charities with honorable missions lack the bandwidth to run effective fundraising campaigns year-round. Through this competition, AIT allows Starlight Children's Foundation to spend less time raising funds and more time focusing on their mission.
