Tylo Gutierrez

I’ve loved the horror genre since I was 16. My first ever series was Friday the 13th and just started to collect the older films on VHS.

What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

My most memorable Halloween experience was a few years ago before I moved. I was working at a boba shop and I would do this thing for October where I dressed as a different costume every time I go into work. My friend was also working the same place as me and we finally worked on the same day so I brought the idea that we go to work as slashers. I gave him some of my stuff and we both went to work dressed up as slashers. I was wearing a neon purge masks and he was wearing a Jason Voorhees mask.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

Short answer - I wouldn't. I ain't a final girl. Long answer - I do believe I have a better chance than most of my friends as I watch channels like how to beat and dead meat on the regular after I watched the film. I also have spend some of my free time axe-throwing and staying physical fit, going to the gym regularly. Slashers are my favorite and know all the common horror movie rules, old and new, on how to survive a slasher horror movie.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

I would use the money to help pay for college as I am currently enrolled for Biochemistry. I have been in love with biochemistry for a large portion of my life especially the scenes of the lizard from The Amazing Spider-man. I would also use a small amount of money to help build cosplays for anime conventions and Halloween costumes. I like sewing my own clothes together and putting my own twist into my costumes so being able to buy more fabrics or more props would help in my hobby.

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

Unironically, my real-life hero is actually Kane Hodder and was the reason I signed up for Face of Halloween. Ever since I saw him as Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th, I have loved horror movies and started watching them as a hobby. He would definitely be built to go toe to toe with the killer and probably kill the killer so I would survive a horror movie. Give that man a machete and just see him go crazy like a highlight reel.
