I dress up everyday. Sometimes I’m a pageant girl. Sometimes I’m emo. Sometimes I’m a y2k party girl going to a concert. My life is a show.

Dying to know what Face of Halloween is all about?
What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?
I’ve dressed up as Draculaura, Barbie, Daphne from Scooby-Doo, a skeleton, Shrek, a zebra, and plenty more. Every year for Halloween I usually do 3 costumes: a scary one, a hot one, and most notably, my taco costume. I wear it to Taco Bell and eat a taco like a cannibal. The workers always love it. One year I got my roommate to dress as a burrito and eat a burrito, while my other roommate dressed as a pickle and brought a jar of pickles to eat at Taco Bell.
Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.
I actually made a detailed PowerPoint for my college rowing team at Drake on the order my teammates would get killed and how if there was a Scream-type slasher on our spring break training trip in Louisiana. I survived, of course and the killer was revealed to be our assistant coach lol. I’ve watched so many horror movies and true crime docs that I’ve planned how to survive with different killers. I also have a detailed plan on what I would do if a zombie apocalypse were to occur.
What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?
I’m running for Miss Polk County and hopefully Miss Iowa this year. My service initiative, Beyond the Barrier Iowa, connects people with free healthcare and community resources. I’d use the $13,000 to keep building my initiative, give back, and further my healthcare career. I just graduated nursing school after supporting myself through college while my family faced health and financial setbacks. My long-term goal is medical school so I can help people like my mom.
Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?
My mom. I have always loved Halloween, and growing up she would go all out decorating every year, even hand-sewing our costumes when we couldn’t afford them. My mom, my siblings, and I would also go ghost hunting together. She got us an EMF detector and we’d take it to local hotspots, the cemetery, an abandoned train station, and anywhere people said was haunted. She also loves Halloween and true crime, and she’s one of the strongest people I know. She’s definitely who I’d want with me.
