What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

Back in 2019, when I started my 13 Days of Halloween “series” for each October, I had never touched anything having to do with special effects makeup. I hopped online and ordered some liquid latex, spirit gum, & scar wax - I decided to take on Freddy Krueger. I did half my face in glam and the other half in sfx. When I finished and got ready for pictures, I looked at myself in my vanity and thought, “wow, I might be able to actually do this.” It lit a fire under me, ignited a passion.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

*Early 2000s horror movies enter the chat* No, but REALLY, I would dig deep to find my own inner strength and just the sheer will to live; I’ve vowed to myself that the only person who can take me out of this life is myself - I will never give anyone else the chance to take it from me on their own accord - #SurvivingOutOfSpite.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

I have spent the past ten years in some facet of the Criminal Justice System; it is my greatest passion and earthside purpose. I’ve hit a rough patch in the job market, so the $13,000 would help me to get back on my feet while in between employment and get moved into a new apartment. Rough waters, but not enough to make me give up.

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

My real life hero is my father (probably a boring, sappy answer, I know) - he is the most bright, innovative, and fearless human, putting logic and solvency before fear and chaos. Isn’t the lack of said logic and solvency what the horror genre feeds off of? With my good ole dad leading the way, there’s a stern chance we would see it to the end, and even better - live to tell the tale!
