What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

When I was about 10, my dad hid in the bushes outside our house while I helped lure unsuspecting trick-or-treaters toward him. He’d jump out at just the right moment and scare them half to death, and I thought it was HILARIOUS. I wasn’t even the innocent kid in this story—I was fully in on it. Looking back, it makes perfect sense that I grew up obsessed with horror. Apparently scaring people was a father-daughter bonding activity in our house.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

I’m making it to the end because I’m a chicken shit. I LOVE horror, but I’m also scared of the dark, I’m not investigating ANYTHING. Weird noise upstairs? Not my business. Creepy basement? Absolutely not. I’ve watched enough horror movies to know exactly what NOT to do. Fear is keeping me alive, and I WILL find a way out. I’m not brave, I am just scared.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

Life lately has honestly felt harder than surviving a horror movie. My dog had a stroke, I’ve needed surgery, and my car broke down—all while regular life and bills kept going. I wouldn’t use the $13,000 for anything glamorous. It would give me something I haven’t had in a while: room to breathe. It would mean less worrying, more stability, and the chance to finally feel like I’m getting ahead instead of just surviving. And that would mean everything to me.

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

My mom, without question. She’s my best friend, my hero, and my “call you on the way home just to talk” person. She’s the person I want beside me when life gets scary, so obviously she’s who I’d want beside me in a horror movie too. She’s my everything, and if I’m making it to the end, she’s making it with me
