Jessica Sullivan

Honestly, the real Face of Halloween is probably a jack-o'-lantern with a great smile. But I'm happy to be its ghostwriter.

What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

When I was 12, my neighbors kids decided to take me snipe hunting in a graveyard down the block on Halloween. The plan I'd hide behind a headstone and shine my flashlight while they 'herded' the snipe toward me. I waited 20 min, 30min, One hour, alone with the me and the tombstones, Nobody came back, so I walked home. I never caught a snipe, but I did learn what gullible means, and dont worry I cut the power off to their house around midnight as revenge.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

Because I have zero curiosity about strange noises. Basement door creaks? Not my problem. Cabin in the woods? Hard pass. While everyone else investigates the creepy doll, I'm already in the car with the engine running, seatbelt on, eating a snack. I don't say 'Who's there?' I say 'Bye.' Survival isn't about being brave. It's about being the most boring person in the movie. See you at the credits.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

First, I'd check the envelope for curses. Then I'd split it three ways a donation to my local food pantry and a ridiculous amount of candy to hand out on Halloween, a portion to help my family, The rest goes in savings, because 13 is unlucky, but I'm not.

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

My dad. Not because he's the toughest guy in the room, but because he's the steadiest. When something goes wrong, he doesn't panic. He just says, 'Alright, here's the plan,' and somehow everyone relaxes. In a horror movie, he'd keep us together, find the exit, and do a head count twice. Nobody gets left behind, not even the guy who says 'I'll be right back.' I'd follow him anywhere, except into the basement. Even Dad has limits
