Jacob Zwack

I live near Anoka and built spooky snowmen at landmarks all winter at night to keep the spirit alive. 100% dedicated, slightly unhinged.

What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

Transforming trunk-or-treat into an extreme candy safari with my kids. Instead of politely grabbing sweets, we treated the parking lot like an untamed spooky wildlife sanctuary. I had the kids crouched, whisper-tracking inflatable dragons, cataloging "wild goblins" by their trunk habitats, and dodging zombie moms while stalking the rare King-Sized candy bar. Watching their eyes light up when make-believe completely took over the night is what Halloween magic is all about.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

I respect the rules. I don’t investigate weird cellar noises, I never say "I’ll be right back," and if the lights flicker, I’m already sprinting out the front door. Most importantly: I actually check the attic floorboards, know the layout of every exit, and never drop my weapon to catch my breath. Slasher villains thrive on bad decisions and split groups. I stay locked in, move fast, and leave the creepy basement rituals to the sequels.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

I’m throwing the ultimate public victory bash right in downtown Anoka to officially inaugurate my reign as the Face of Halloween in the Halloween Capital of the World. We’re talking local cider, fog machines coating the streets, epic live entertainment, and a massive community costume contest with prizes for all ages. It’s an unlucky number, so the only cure is spending every cent giving the whole town one unforgettable, eerie night.

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

Brock Lesnar. A former Minnesota Golden Gophers national champ and heavyweight beast—he’s the only human on earth who makes horror villains look like prey. Jason Voorhees walks out of the woods? Brock double-legs him through a picnic table and sends Michael Myers straight to Suplex City. In a horror movie, you don’t need an emotional support buddy; you need a 280-pound tactical force of nature who treats a demonic curse like an aggressive takedown.
