What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

As a child, I lived in an apartment building next to a condemned brownstone. The night before Halloween my cat, Whiskers, got out of our home. Five of my friends joined me and my mother in searching the boarded-up building. Flashlights in hand, we carefully began to explore. Suddenly, a clowder of cats flew down the stairs, sending us all outside screaming. Luckily, we found Whiskers! It was terrifying for a group of 10-year-olds and one middle aged mama.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

I’ve watched so many horror, thriller, and suspense movies, I know the mistakes made by those killed. True crime documentaries have also given me hints. Plus, I'm a writer of mostly thrillers and killers. I’d make it to the end and defeat the evil doers. Then I’d go on to do it in the sequels!

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

I'd go to Ireland to visit where my mother was born. My husband and I have cruised the Mediterranean and visited Britain but I've never been to see Galway. I'm 73-years-old and I better go soon! And imagine the ghosties and ghoulies I might meet!

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

I have several real-life heroes. In my personal life it’s my friend/caretaker, Kathy. She’s been my biggest cheerleader for 44 years. Although she’s a little older than me. I was diagnosed with MS when I was 32. She helped me raise 4 children, supported me through college, and as a former health care professional, helps me care for myself. Did I mention horror movies scare her? (If I can’t have her, give me Stephen King! He knows more about horror than most folk.)
