What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

When I was 10, I was going trick or treating in my new neighborhood. While I was walking away from a house, a man carrying a fake chainsaw and wearing a Jason Voorhees mask chased me back to my parents. I was shaking and crying and terrified, but I’d also never felt more alive. This is what truly awakened my love for horror and Halloween. I have no idea who that man was but I owe him everything.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

As much as I love horror movies, I always find myself screaming at the TV, begging the characters to run away. I feel as though the second things start to get bloody, I’d be skipping to the next town over. My knowledge of horror cliches would probably be what saves me. Especially knowing the archetype of a Final Girl and what traits they have, and being able to apply them to myself.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

I would give half to my parents for whatever expenses they need. They were the one who fostered my love for spookiness by letting me watch horror movies with them, even when they probably shouldn’t have! They’re my best friends, and favorite movie buddies. The other half would immediately go towards college. No matter where my life ends up taking me, I want to be as educated as I’m able, and college is intensely expensive, so the remaining $6.5k would be a great help!

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

The obvious choice would be my family of course, however my real horror hero would have to be Inde Navarette. Inde is the star of my most recent obsession (lol) and she is so funny and has such an infectious personality, even if we don’t make it to the end of the movie, it would still be an entertaining one. I connected with Obsession in a way that is harder to find with modern horror movies, and being able to survive with the face of that movie would be the biggest honor!
