What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

My most memorable Halloween moment is hard to choose every year! I love creating costumes, decorating the house, and watching my kids enjoy my favorite holiday. I’ve worked in haunted houses for years and organized my USAF squadron’s annual haunted events for 19 years. I’ve chased hundreds of screaming people out the doors—and it never gets old! I’ve also won several costume contests over the last 15 years. Halloween is my ultimate holiday, and I can’t wait for many more unforgettable memories!

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

To survive a horror movie, you need to know what kind of horror you’re dealing with. In a slasher, never say, “I’ll be right back,” because you probably won’t. Against zombies, run fast, stay quiet, and protect your brain. With ghosts, ignore creepy noises and definitely don’t investigate them. In a monster movie, find its weakness instead of playing hero. In a haunted house, get out immediately. And whatever happens, NEVER split up, trust a creepy stranger, or go into the basement alone.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

If I were to win this contest and the $13K, I would reinvest the money into my family. One daughter needs braces, while another needs a new viola for her school orchestra. I’d also set some aside to bring my newest costume idea, “Jeepers Creepers,” to life and replace some of my old Halloween décor. It would mean so much to use the prize to help my family while continuing the Halloween traditions we love!

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

Chuck Norris, because everything is afraid of Chuck Norris! If something goes bump in the night, Chuck doesn’t investigate—the bump investigates Chuck. Ghosts would leave the haunted house, monsters would hide under the bed, and even the killer would probably call it a night. If I had Chuck Norris by my side, I wouldn’t need a survival plan. The horror movie would need a survival plan from us!
