What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

My most memorable Halloween experience has been watching Darling Darkness become more than an idea. I started creating the monsters, characters and strange little worlds I wanted to see—and then other people started stepping into them with me. Halloween stopped being one night. It became a world I could keep building all year.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

I’d make it to the end because I notice the thing everyone else ignores. I’m not opening the mysterious door alone, splitting from the group, or assuming the monster is gone because it fell down once. I’d be scared, absolutely—but curious, stubborn and suspicious enough to survive. Also, I’ve spent far too much time with monsters not to know better.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

I’d put it into Darling Darkness—better tools, stronger visuals, more original characters, and the kind of short-form storytelling that can turn this strange little castle into something bigger. Some would go toward growing the brand, and some toward creating more of the dark fantasy and Halloween work I already make year-round.

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

I don’t have one—and that may be the most honest answer. My horror heroes were fictional: Elvira, Morticia Addams, the Crypt Keeper, Lily Munster, and the strange worlds I found in books and film. They made me curious enough to study folklore, death practices and what different cultures consider “dark.” So my survival partner? Probably a stack of books and someone willing to investigate the monster with me.
