What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

My most memorable Halloween was at 4, trick-or-treating. Leaves falling, everything orange and brown, walking dark streets at night door to door. It felt like a lost era, like old traditions breathing again. Halloween is the one night the modern world shuts off and lets the old world return — a bygone era. That feeling never left me. I don't just celebrate Halloween, I carry it.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

I've had my own brushes with ghosts and demonic entities, so I know fear is real. I'd make it to the end of the movie — I won't go alone, won't assume the killer is dead, and won't say "I'll be right back!" I learned from Bruce Campbell in Evil Dead what NOT to do, don't read from the damn book, but also how to take care of business when evil shows up.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

If I won the 13K, as an art teacher I'd put it right into my classes — supplies, paint, everything my kids need to create. I'd put some back into my community for children's Halloween fun, to keep that magic alive. I do this all for the kids since I'm unable to have my own. And I'd use a portion to buy Christmas gifts for the needy kids in my classes who would otherwise go without.

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

My real life hero would be my wife. She's been beside me for 13 years now, thru thick and thin, thru darkness and light. She's my hero. She's my Final Girl.
