Halloween isn’t just a day or month for me. I love it year-round, from all the spooky kookiness to everything macabre and haunting.
We would like to thank you for supporting Ariana Esparza in this year's competition. Your participation helps aid the Starlight Children's Foundation in its mission to deliver happiness to seriously ill kids and their families through virtual reality experiences, fun hospital wear, games, and positivity!
What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?
It would have to be when I went to my first haunted house. It’s called the Thirteenth Floor and is based in San Antonio, and I will never forget the character that they had. It was the jackal from the movie Thirteen Ghosts and watching him move around was quite frankly horrifying but the emotions he invoked in others was something you couldn’t look away from. I was hooked right then and there.
Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.
My perception skills come from being an observer and being able to make quick decisions in hectic situations. I would still be scared of anything coming my way, but at the end of the day, it’s them or me, and I choose me every time. You have to do what you have to do to survive, while also helping others if you’re able to. You must overcome the fear that’s working its way towards you, adapt and then keep going.
What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?
I would use part of the money to take care of some of my debt and put some into a savings fund for any emergencies. I would use the remaining money for necessary expenses and set a budget to make sure I don’t spend it carelessly.
