ShaRon King

I am horror — dread in silence, fear in shadows. I don’t tell stories; I haunt them, leaving chills that linger long after the lights return

What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

My first Village Halloween Parade in Manhattan was pure magic—streets alive with music, dancing, and jaw-dropping costumes. Goblins, ghouls, superheroes, and my own look turned the night into a living, breathing work of art. The energy was electric, all love and freedom, no fear. That unforgettable night set the standard for every Halloween since, a memory I still can’t stop reliving.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

I didn’t run or scream. I noticed the missing knife, the smile that didn’t match their eyes. While others begged and froze, I stayed still, calculating. Survival isn’t luck; it’s seeing what others can’t, becoming what’s needed—silent, clever, cruel. Maybe I saved someone. Maybe I stopped a monster. Or maybe… the real monster was me all along.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

If I won $13,000, I’d invest in a home studio to create original horror content—films, effects, writing, art—and grow my skills through conventions, festivals, and courses. Horror has shaped my creativity, so I’d also donate to charities supporting mental health and young artists. This isn’t just prize money; it’s a chance to turn passion into a lasting creative journey.

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

Tony Todd is my hero and here’s my story. I call it….. “The Last Light” The wind howled as the lights died. I stumble through a dark mansion, flashlight flickering, shadows closing in. Then a calm voice: “You’re not supposed to be here,” said Tony Todd, stepping from the dark. He hands me a key. “The cellar’s your way out.” I asked him why. He smiled. “Death has rules. You’re not ready.” As l turned to go, his voice followed: “Don’t look back. Don’t speak the name. Survive. Then we talk.”
