Ross Doolin

I build a Halloween maze outside my house each year for trick-or-treaters. I am known as "the haunted house" in the area. It's a dream to me

What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

When I was about 13, I stopped going trick-or-treating and started setting up dummies on the outside of my house as decor for Halloween. Then, on Halloween night, I would take the place of one of the dummies and be dressed in the same costume that had been outside the house for weeks. It was amazing to scare everyone in the neighborhood. People got the message of what I was doing so my brother started to do it with me & we'd switch back & forth between scaring, so people were always confused!

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

I'd make it to the end because: A) I do not trip while running B) I'd never run upstairs or to a level of a house that doesn't have an easy exit C) I am super observant, so if anyone sprang out at me, I'd be out of there in under 2 seconds! D) I do not answer calls from numbers I do not know

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

It would all be about investing in the maze I build each year. I really want to get a C02 smoke machine blast, but those high-level props can really cost a lot! I'd also like to expand my maze size, but everything costs money...and I already invest a lot of time and money into what I've already built. We get small donations here and there, but not to buy so of the amazing high-tech items that exist. I was looking for a fake chainsaw to add, but that alone is $1500 for a realistic one!

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

My husband! I think between his smarts and my savvy, we would be survivors, no doubt! We aren't virgins, but I still think we have a chance.
