Dying to know what Face of Halloween is all about?
What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?
When I was a freshman in high school I became apart of my dad's haunted yard set up for Halloween. There were limbs coming out of grates and I would lay amongst the bodies and grab kids ankles as they walked by or if they got too close. Some of my friends also came by that night and chased them to their houses. Later that night, my friends and I went on a haunted trail and were then chased by a man with a chainsaw. I got to be both the monster and the victim that night and it was incredible.
Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.
I have always made it to the end even when some of my friends have not. My best friend, Alberto, would've wanted to make it to the end with me but unfortunately he didn't make it as he passed away in January. I have lost other friends along the way as well to unfortunate illnesses, accidents, and mental health issues but I know that I am the person they want to make it to the end. Alberto always said that I would've made it to the end or died fighting to protect the ones I love.
What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?
Alberto and I started Chills & Cultura Podcast together last Halloween and released biweekly episodes until his passing. We agreed when we started it that everything would be split 50/50 if we made money or not. I want half of the money to go to his mom for the headstone and funeral expenses. The rest would be invested back into the podcast which focuses on horror movies, shows, books, etc. and the cultural impact they have and how culture impacts the horror genre.
Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?
I would've wanted to survive with my best friend, Alberto but we don't always get what we want. He was the sweetest gym bro, loved his two cats, and his girlfriend more than anything in the world. He couldn't run fast but he was strong and at the very least would've helped me kick the sh*t out of the monsters in a horror movie. He loved the Halloween movies and I loved the Scream movies. Those were our jam.
