What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

One Halloween night, fog curled through the valley and the moon hung low like a silver omen. In my haunted Northern New Mexico home, surrounded by flickering candles and the scent of piñon smoke, I felt the stillness our elders speak of in old ghost tales. A shadow slipped past the hallway… no one was there. It felt as if the spirits of the land had come to remind me that Halloween is when the veil thins and the old legends still breathe.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

I’d make it to the end of a horror movie not because I’m fearless, but because I listen to the warnings the shadows give. Quietly stubborn and guided by the old lore of Northern New Mexico, I move carefully through the dark, carrying a protective magic I hardly understand. When the night is over, I am still standing — the last one left, shaped by what haunts the unseen corners.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

If I won $13,000, I’d use it for my husband and our toddler twins, giving them joy, security, and little magical memories to help them grow, surrounded by love.

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

My real-life hero is my grandmother, a Hispanic woman from Northern New Mexico, no longer with me but always in spirit — the one who sparked my love for Halloween and all things haunting, keeping the flame of spooky magic alive in my heart.
