What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

2010 was one of the hardest years for me and my family, but my mother never let illness/ chaos come between her and her flair for fun and creativity. I’ve had Halloween birthdays my whole life and this year I had hoped for the same. But she somehow made it even better! With an ornate haunted house, every room was themed. From Mrs. Lovetts kitchen, to haunted paintings with glow in the dark eyes, to Freddy Krueger and Jason (dressed family members) popping out of corners, it was the best ever!

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

As a true Halloween baby, I am mystified (or haunted) by gothic lore, old abandoned buildings, and the intricacies of past events…which means I’m always chasing the scare. However, because I’ve watched every horror movie/had my fair share of adventure in spooky towns/ cities, I also know how to get out of danger. As an actor, I’ve got a mean poker face, and I’m quick to improvise depending on what’s coming my way. Most of all, I am confident I can outsmart a killer, especially if they’re a man.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

I would use some of it to fund my feature film I wrote and pay for my acting/improv classes. Id also want to give back to a club I started in school where we’d visit hospitals during holidays and do arts and crafts with the brain tumor section of a children’s hospital. Even if the kids couldn’t do the activity, the parents enjoyedOh, & of course I’d save some of it for Halloween decorations for my birthday party. I’m having a coven themed birthday party and whoever’s reading this…you’re invited!

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

My mom is my absolute hero and despite my resistance at times, she is always right. She’s also a bad*ss momma bear who's quick on her feet. As a history and film wizard, she’s excellent at predicting the outcomes of situations. With her practical thinking and my creativity, we make a winning team. I’m also thoroughly convinced we’re related to some Spanish/ Cuban resilient witches somewhere in our family tree. I’m hoping we might be able to channel that somehow…What can I say? We’re survivors!
