Decorating 20+ yrs inside, 4 yrs outside, raising autism awareness inspired by my son Ryno’s love of Halloween every year.
We would like to thank you for supporting Jon Foster (Dad) in this year's competition. Your participation helps aid the Starlight Children's Foundation in its mission to deliver happiness to seriously ill kids and their families through virtual reality experiences, fun hospital wear, games, and positivity!
What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?
Hard to pick just one. One of my most memorable Halloweens was when WGN Chicago spent 4 hours with us on Halloween morning 2023, featuring our haunt and raising awareness. Over 3 years, we’ve raised $6K+ for autism charities. Another highlight is camping out at the Spirit Halloween flagship in New Jersey, making friends and hauling animatronics home. We also loved being first-time vendors at Midwest Haunters Convention, connecting with families and sharing autism acceptance stories.
Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.
With my ADHD brain, my mind works lightning-fast, and I pride myself on being a problem solver—so while everyone else trips over bad decisions, I’m already figuring out how to get out. Plus I’ve seen my fair share of horror movies to understand the recipe a bit.
What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?
A good chunk would go into my future Halloween display/haunts. Donate a portion to an autism charity. Save a bit as well.
Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?
My Son. He is my world and on his way to accomplishing great things!
