What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

Picture it, Halloween 1987. The real horror that year was my costume. Streets swarmed with Michael Myers masks, Freddy Krueger gloves, Thriller-era Michaels, and shiny Transformers. And me? In Mom’s homemade chicken getup with feather-stuffed yellow sweatpants, a dish-glove beak, and grapefruit mesh on my ankles for chicken skin. I was horrified at the time, but looking back it sure did get a lot of laughs.

I'd spot the red flags before the creepy music even starts. If true crime docs and horror movies have taught me anything, they've taught me how to be the final girl. And honestly? Anyone who can rock a homemade chicken costume in a street full of Freddy Kruegers can face anything.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

If I won, I’d turn my Macabre: Dark History Podcast into a powerhouse of macabre storytelling. Upgraded mics, soundproofing, and pro editing gear. I’d equip my cohost for flawless remote recording, expand our sound design, and grow our reach—transforming the show into an unforgettable experience for every listener.

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

Zinaida Portnova, a bad ass Soviet girl, a WWII teen resistance fighter who outwitted and poisoned over 100 Nazis. She was fearless, resourceful, and quick-thinking under pressure and ultimate Final Girl energy. In a horror setting, she’d spot danger before it struck, set clever traps, and fight until the very end.
