What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

Decorating our front yard every year for Halloween, starting when I was about 5 until we moved to an apartment around age 17. It was the one time of year my family came together and spent more time decorating than we ever did for Christmas. Turning our yard into a spooky masterpiece became our tradition.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

I’m making it to the end credits because I follow the golden horror rules—no hooking up, no booze, no drugs, and I’ll never utter the cursed “I’ll be right back.” I keep my head on a swivel, trust no creepy basements, and run toward the keys, not upstairs. While everyone else breaks the rules, I’m staying alert, armed with common sense and a flashlight. Survivors don’t tempt fate, they outsmart it.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

I first thought about spoiling my incredible wife, but my heart says use it to help my son with college and launch a nonprofit that uses disc golf to reach veterans. Disc golf gave me peace and purpose in my battle with PTSD—it became more than a game, it became healing. Now I want to create that same outlet for others who’ve worn the uniform and need a new mission.

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

My best friend and fellow military vet Jerry. Our horror obsession means we know every survival rule. Add our military-honed skills, and we’re the ultimate nightmare duo. We’ll outthink, outsmart, and outlive the killer… right to the final credits. If the monster’s smart, it’ll run first.
