What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

My most memorable Halloween is our yearly tradition of trick-or-treating with my younger siblings—yes, even as an adult. I help them get into their costumes, we make the rounds with their friends, and then we all wind down with pizza and The Nightmare Before Christmas. It’s a tradition we cherish, filled with laughter, sugar highs, and the kind of magic that makes Halloween my favorite night of the year.

Combine the critical thinking of a nursing student with a lifelong love (and extensive knowledge) of horror movies, and you get a well-equipped survivor. I know how to stay calm under pressure, think three steps ahead, and avoid every cliché mistake that gets characters killed. Whether it’s patching wounds, finding the safest escape, or spotting the twist before it happens—I’d be the one making it to the end credits.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

I’d put most of the $13,000 toward my nursing school tuition—turning unlucky money into an investment in my future. With what’s left, I’d treat myself and a few friends to Halloween Horror Nights, because even future nurses need a little adrenaline and spooky fun. It’d be the perfect mix of responsibility and making memories I’ll talk about long after the screams fade.

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

My mom—hands down. She’s my biggest supporter, encouraging my love for Halloween even though she hates anything scary. As a fellow nurse, she’s fueled my passion for the profession and been my rock through nursing school. She’s smart, calm under pressure, and endlessly caring—exactly the person you’d want by your side in a horror movie. Plus, she’d make sure we both survived, then lecture the killer on proper wound care.
