What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?

When I was 10, my mom, grandpa, and I played with a glow in the dark Ouija board in a dark room. Mom, who loved spooky things, was all in, but grandpa, a towering man who seemed impossible to scare, was unfazed. We all had a finger on the planchette when Mom secretly moved it. Suddenly, grandpa jumped up terrified and ran into a closet! Mom and I couldn’t stop laughing. That moment perfectly sums up my love for Halloween, and probably explains where I got my love for the eerie side of things.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

Because I know the difference between curiosity and survival instinct. I ask the right questions, but never open the wrong door. Panic is loud, survival is quiet, I’d listen more than I talk, and move before the scream.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

As a recent grad trying to break into graphic design and support myself, $13K wouldn’t just be luck, it would be fuel. I’d invest in continuing to build a strong portfolio, upgrading my tools, and taking jobs that grow my career, not just pay bills. I’m also pursuing acting, which I’ve trained in, hoping to explore the horror genre, inspiring my creativity. This would give me breathing room to move from surviving to creating, a chance to invest in my future.

Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?

My mom. She’s no longer here, but if I could survive a horror movie with anyone, it would be her. She was calm under pressure, smart without ever needing to prove it, and stronger than most people ever knew. I’d trust her to get us through anything, monsters included!
