I am the scream behind the silence, the shadow behind the smile—Halloween isn’t a costume to me, it’s who I’ve always been.
We would like to thank you for supporting Aileen Vargas in this years competition. Your participation helps aid the Starlight Children's Foundation in its mission to deliver happiness to seriously ill kids and their families through virtual reality experiences, fun hospital wear, games, and positivity!
What’s your most memorable Halloween experience?
One Halloween, I walked alone through an abandoned theme park in costume—no phone, no light. I swore I was being followed. Each echo, each gust of wind felt alive. I made it out, but not without a story. Every year since, I chase that same chill down my spine. It’s my tradition now.
Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.
Because I don’t scream—I observe. I blend in, adapt, and strike only when necessary. I’m the one who listens when others panic. The one who doesn’t trip running through the woods. And if I’m the final girl… the monster should be scared of me.
What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?
I’d turn the curse into a cause—invest in storytelling, mental health support, and creative content for those who feel like outcasts. I'd build a space where horror lovers and misunderstood souls can connect, laugh, and heal in the shadows.
Who is your real-life hero who you would want to survive a horror movie with?
My grandmother. She survived real-life horrors with a calm mind and a fierce heart. If there’s one person who could outsmart a killer and comfort a room full of terrified strangers, it’s her. Her strength is legendary—and although she no longer with us she’d bring snacks to the event.
